Welcome to my art website!

The purpose of this website is to share with you my artwork and the story behind my art.

I’m a self taught artist and since I’m now in my mid-40’s this means that I’ve been an artist for half my life but I’ve not been a full time artist like most people, I’m a business owner, happily married and I have 3 children so my life is busy to say the least but I always find the time to work on my artwork because it’s something that I love.

Art has been with me through the ups and downs in my life, through dozens of moves, multiple states, jobs, broke, not broke, and everything else in between.

My hope for this website is that you will get a chance to know me, join my email list, maybe buy a print or two and of course some original artwork. I also would love to connect with gallery owners in the world who see potential in my work and would love to hang it in their galleries. 🙂

About Me

Ever since the day that I took my first art class in 1994 and realized that I could draw and create artwork, I realized that creating artwork was the one thing that I really loved to do and whenever I work on my artwork it’s as if time stands still because I feel the same passion for art that I felt back then and I can easily paint all night long if I want to.

About My Art

When I first started painting in the early 1990’s my artwork was more abstract back then because it was a style that I enjoyed painting in but since then I would define my work as abstract / realism because as you can see from the picture of this page I love color, shape and design but you can still understand what you’re looking at.

Since starting a family I’ve done a lot work in oil pastel since this has by far been the easiest medium to work in but I’ve also done plenty of drawings and created artwork using crayons too especially since I enjoy sitting down with my children to create art whenever I can.

I believe that if you’re passionate about something and committed to it you will continue with that thing that you love. This is how my art is to me and I hope you find something that you’re passionate about too, something that gets you up from your bed in the morning.

My Favorite Artists

As of 2018-2019 my favorite artists are still the “founding fathers” of modern art like Picasso, Matisse, Braque, Warhol and Hockney but I also enjoy the work of street artists like Shepard Fairey, Banksy and Vhils because their work is often spontaneous and inspiring.

This website always is under construction but I will be updating it on a daily basis so please bookmark and check this site often if you’re and art fan or are interested in what I’m doing with my art.

What Inspires Me

I have to admit that I’m inspired by everyday objects and it can be anything from an arrangement of dishes at the store, a coffee pot in my house, tools something that I see in everyday life, everything inspires me.

Honestly, I think it’s the job of the artist to shine a light on things that we see every day because in today’s iPhone / internet based world it’s so easy to get sidetracked and miss the beauty that’s always around us.

I’m just like you, I also enjoy gaming, watching movies, working out and spending time with my kids but when I’m now working or doing all of the above I’ve learned to focus on what’s happening all around me and turn the beauty that I see into art.
